Version 193 Theme Selections
Version 193 introduces the feature of user defined theme . A user can now select which theme they prefer to use and the system will automatically load the selected theme when the user logs in regardless of the system default selection. This feature comes in handy for businesses which have more then one copy of LaserQuote , enabling to visually discern between them as well as assisting given users with better suited theme options catered for the individual

Update Price Function
- New function introduction . It is now possible to update the cost of a part that contains any profile cutting work item or any BOM work item. This is achieved via the top right button found on the part definition form and called " Recalculate Price". When you choose to use this function LaserQuote will search all the work items found in the given part and identify all profile cutting and BOM ones.
The material cost component of these work items will be updated with the latest buy cost recorded in your database against the same supplier used in the part definition. Immediately after this price update is performed the system will recalculate the final unit price based on the logic that the new price will use the new material buy cost and match the net profit the work item had prior to the update. In other words it will make sure that you make the same profit on the part regardless of the material price increase/decrease.
This function is optional and will not be initiate unless the button " Recalculate Price " is pressed. For even more convenience this function can be accessed for a group of parts at ones . One you perform a search for parts via Reports>Parts>Part or Date range, you will be given access to a grid table showing a list of found parts. One or multiple parts can be selected via the check box at the left of the grid and then price can be recalculated via the top dollar icon at the top left of the grid.
Programming - Material Received - LaserQuote functionality
Within the Programming and Nesting section a new process status has been introduced . This is called "Material Received" and it is a fully automated function which is designed to change the status of a job to Material Received as soon as the purchase order line item linked to this nest has been received in the inventory . The programmer that initiated this nest and purchase order will still receive an email informing them of the material arrival but the status will be immediately visible once the inventory entry has been made .
The intend of this function is to further increase the programmers efficiency and to give them a overall view of the real status of a given job just by looking at the standard grid for the status of Waiting for Material .
Within this same grid we can now check for the material availability for any given nest and material . Therefore at a glance the programmer can identify if any of the nests have relevant material available currently in the inventory . This function is valid for the New programming list as well .
You can access this via this icon in the top left section of the grid after you have selected one or more lines from the grid . The same icon and function is present in each line and it will return a result for each nest individually .
Inventory Modification - LaserQuote
At the request of many of our users we have modified the logic and process of controlling the raw material movement. We have introduced a new attribute within the inventory itself called " Used by Jobs" which will summaries the qty of all material used by jobs . This information was previously available via the linked tab at the bottom of the form called Used by Jobs . This functionality remains in place .
A much sought after feature is here now . From within a supplier screen we can now access two tabs which will enable to user to view a list of all the materials or parts supplied by this supplier. Further more this list allows for in line editing . This means that you are able to modify say a sheet price directly by clicking into the price field and directly modify its value. Once you click out or press enter or tab the change will be automatically saved . Updating price list will become a much more efficient and fast process with in-line editing . This feature is available to all the fields present in both grids . New records can also be added via the "Add New" button at the bottom of the grid .
As always LaserQuote is aiming at becoming the benchmark in speed and efficiency among the manufacturing and job shop software .
Up until this feature was introduced , the system was creating a new purchase order for each job generated by a customer order . The result at times can be a large number of purchase orders all with one line item and often for the same subcontractor . At the request of a large number of our users we have implemented the optional feature of consolidating the raised PO . This works in the following manner : the system will create a PO for a subcontractor and then will continue adding line items for other jobs to the same PO for as long as the status of that PO is "NEW" which means is not sent . The second the PO is marked as being SENT the system will generate another PO for other job for the same subcontractor .
This is as mentioned earlier an optional feature as some of you may still choose to operate the original way . So you can enable or disable this feature via the System Settings .

Modified to accommodate more characters and allow for long post codes similar to the ones in Singapore .

Just like the customised email signature from Quotes now all emails sent via the CRM module will attach a customized signature relevant to the logged in user .

Build 143 Sub report in presentation ( i.e. line items ) do not update when using templates
When using templates to change the default design of a system document , the sub-report section of a presentation does not use the uploaded template instead reverts to the original.
This is now fixed .
This could be a bug that needs investigation.
Build 143 - Fonts and characters for other languages
Necessary fonts and foreign characters required for translating LaserQuote in other languages have now been introduced and ready to deploy .

When creating a new nest and the system prompts for the part to be added to an existing nest , and the user chooses to do so , create a edit nest button for the selected nest to be able to navigate right to it .
